Catching Up
It’s always depressing to come home from vacation to a thousand or so unread items in your news feed. That’s why I’ve started checking my news feed while I’m on vacation! PRO TIP! Here’s some of the best of what I missed over the past few days:
- There will be a third Mermaid Avenue album of Woody Guthrie compositions set to music, but Wilco isn’t participating. Instead, sworn Wilco nemesis Jay Farrar is doing it. Twist!
- St. Vincent and Andrew Bird team up to
fight crimesing for La Blogotheque. The performance of Bird’s “Effigy” is really pretty, and Annie gave me hetero flashes on “What Me Worry.” - Trailer released for DJ Hero. It’s amazing how much more excited I am for this than I was for Beatles Rock Band. Or Lego Rock Band, for that matter.
- New Thom Yorke song and video. Pretty average.
- You can stream the Bon Iver side project, Volcano Choir, at NPR.
- Since people are already getting tired of “Imma let you finish,” I vote our next viral meme be “keep fucking that chicken.”
