In the future, when our grandchildren ask us how the gays spent the summer of 2009, we will tell them honestly that we just stripped down to our square-cut swim trunks and lip-synched to pop songs on YouTube. First it was Miley, and today we did Whitney. The song is “Million Dollar Bill,” which is pretty fun as would-be comebacks go. The setting is Asbury Park, N.J., which appears way more fabulous than it ever did in Springsteen’s songs. And the vibe is gay — and I mean visible-from-space gay.
