For Some Reason There Was a Crap Ton of Radiohead News Today
- Thom demonstrated a sense of humor in this clip from the Latitude Festival in July. A British comedian helps him come up with a name for his solo act, and they settle on Thomosexual.
- Did you know Thom played a solo acoustic version of “True Love Waits” at the Latitude Festival? Me neither!
- Somebody made a bunch of jokes at the band’s expense (“Songs about math and fish get me hot”) in this parody video for “Rock Band: Radiohead Edition.”
- Johnny Greenwood gave an interesting interview on the rise of MP3s to Sasha Frere-Jones of the New Yorker: “The downside is that people are encouraged to own far more music than they can ever give their full attention to. People will have MP3s of every Miles Davis’ record but never think of hearing any of them twice in a row—there’s just too much to get through. You’re thinking, ‘I’ve got ‘Sketches of Spain’ and ‘Bitches Brew’—let’s zip through those while I’m finishing that e-mail.’ That abundance can push any music into background music, furniture music.”
